As a founder of Vestige, Damon has over 30 years experience working with technology. For more than 20 years, he has worked in the industry or consulted businesses on big-picture IT Management issues, as well as deeply technical issues. His foundation as a programmer/developer, formal training in IT, as well as years of experience working with businesses provides him with an extremely deep understanding of a multitude of issues that arise on digital devices.
His software development experience further provides him with a deep understanding of how data is stored, and where it is stored, which gives him a distinct advantage when considering how Digital Forensics can be used to obtain the evidence.
Since 2001, Damon has been involved in the digital forensics field. He has developed the techniques and procedures that protect and preserve the evidence, allowing its admissibility in courts, as well as performing the actual analyses on cases. He has testified in State and Federal courts and has been recognized as an Expert in Computer Forensics under Federal Rules of Evidence 702. He is a member of the International Society of Forensic Computer Examiners (ISFCE), Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and stays active in several Computer Forensic-only message boards.
Helping to shape this important and fast-moving industry, he is responsbile for leading Vestige and overseeing corporate strategic direction and growth, finance and administration, as well as the sales and marketing functions of the company.
Damon is a sought-after speaker on the topic of Forensics, Electronic Discovery, IT Security and IT Audit subjects and has given presentations and been part of expert panels within the region, including presentations to several Professional Associations (legal, accounting and others), in the Information Security area, as well as seminars to area attorneys and law firms. He has also been published a number of times on topics relating to Computer Forensics as well as other Technology related subjects.
Damon earned his Master in Business Administration from the Weatherhead School of Management, and his undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve University. In addition he holds the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), (CSX) Cybersecurity Nexus Fundamentals certification from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). As a founder of Vestige, Greg has been involved in the digital forensics field since 2000. He is responsible for the creation of Vestige’s infrastructure and continues to oversee the process of standardizing and streamlining Vestige’s forensic analysis to provide consistent high-quality results in a timely basis.
Greg leads Vestige’s Digital Forensic and E-Discovery services. His responsibilities include helping to determine strategic direction of the company and overseeing the day-to-day operations and internal Information Systems infrastructure. He helps in performing as well as managing the digital forensic investigations and leads the Data Evidence Specialists and Forensic Analysts on the Vestige team.
Greg has 20 years of experience working in the computer industry. His various positions and responsibilities included custom software design and implementation, network management and security, database programming, disaster recovery and end-user support. For the past 15 years, Greg has helped Vestige become one of the few companies capable of performing comprehensive digital forensic investigations. He has worked on criminal and civil matters covering areas such as intrusion and incident response, intellectual property theft, fraud and uncovering hidden assets. Greg is experienced and has testified in State court and Federal court in both civil and criminal cases.
Greg graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering and a minor in Artificial Intelligence from Case Western Reserve University. He holds the professional designation of Encase Certified Examiner (EnCE) and Digital Forensics Certified Practitioner (DFCP). He is an active participant in the digital forensics industry having spoken at conferences such as Techno Forensics, ISS World (Intelligent Support Systems), Computer and Enterprise Investigations Conference (CEIC) and Paraben Forensic Innovations Conference (PFIC). Prior to Vestige, Greg was founder of two predecessor computer consulting companies in the Ohio region.

Theresa joined Vestige in 2009. As Operations Manager, she is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating Vestige’s administrative operations including: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and improving business processes and policies in support of organizational goals using Standard Operating Procedures.
She also performs Human Resources duties including recruitment, placement and retention of staff; and coordinates payroll and benefits.
She provides support to Sales, Marketing and Customer Service and supervises the Office Administrator. Theresa also provides strategic input and assists in the development of strategic plans for operational activity as a liaison to Administration. Prior to joining Vestige, Theresa worked at BF Goodrich, Dow Chemical and Eaton Corp.

Betsy brings extensive expertise to Vestige’s Marketing Department having worked in technology, medical, and manufacturing sectors. She coordinates all internal and external communications including strategic planning, budgeting and management of Vestige’s marketing and promotion endeavors. Her responsibilities also include traditional and virtual tradeshows, website, social media, CRM, advertising, media relations, publications and collateral management.
She is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, specializing in Public Relations. She is a member of the American Marketing Association and is a graduate of the Leadership Medina program.

Anthony Merlino is Managing Director, East Coast Region, for Vestige Digital Investigations, a leading U.S. Electronic Evidence Experts company specializing in Digital Forensics, CyberSecurity, and ESI Services.
Merlino continues Vestige’s growth initiatives in our newly opened New York City office. His focus includes establishing long-term relationships with law offices, IT companies, accounting firms, human resources, insurance, and law enforcement investigations to enable them to effectively utilize relevant digital evidence as well as effective cyber practices.
His primary areas of focus include: Day-to-day and long-term growth of Vestige’s practice; Developing and nurturing relationships as the liaison between attorney, client and forensic analyst team; and consulting with clients and legal teams to help identify, investigate, manage, and protect their most critical digital assets and evidence. Merlino also directs acquisition, preservation and production of relevant evidence and documents in litigation and other court proceedings, as well as internal investigations, pre-litigation fact-finding and overall discovery process.
As a veteran national director of consulting and forensic services, Merlino brings 30 years of expertise working in the legal services industry. He has strong consulting skills and is an Expert in Document Management, Digital Forensics, Electronically Stored Information (ESI), Forensic Certified Public Accounting (FCPA), and Professional Services. He sucessfully prepared, presented and defended protocols for the exchange of electronic data in civil litigations and in proceedings before several government agencies. Merlino is qualified as an Expert while successfully testifying in State and Federal Court as an Expert in fraud and trade practices litigation.
Mr. Merlino is a past president of HTCIA Mid-Atlantic, EDRM Node Leader, and a frequent speaker on multiple Digital Forensic and e-Discovery topics.

Nick joined Vestige in 2006 and worked his way up to Senior Forensic Analyst. Then in 2017 he moved to the Technical Sales Engineer position. Nick brings extensive product knowledge and customer service experience to this sales position having conducted more than 400 forensic examinations, as well as case management and technical expertise.
His responsibilities include business development, inside sales and speaking engagements.
Nick graduated from Pittsburgh Technical College with an Associate Degree in Science with IT concentration in Computer Forensics and Network Security. He holds certifications as a Certified Computer Examiner (CCE) issued by the International Society of Forensic Computer Examiners, GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), is Network Security+ and A+ Certified by CompTIA. Kenneth “Danny” Stemple, Jr., hails from Parkersburg, WV, where he attended Parkersburg H.S. He received an Associate of Arts degree in Computer Science from West Virginia University and went on to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Digital Forensics from Marshall University in WV in 2016.
He currently holds three professional designations: Cellebrite Certified Operator (CCO), Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyst (CCPA), and AccessData Certified Examiner (ACE).

Alyssa is originally from Ashtabula, Ohio. In 2015 she graduated from Pittsburgh Technical College in Oakdale, PA where she earned an Associate Degree in Science, Information Technology. She also completed an internship at Vestige in 2015. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Forensics and Digital Investigations through Champlain College, Burlington, VT.
She joined Vestige as a Data Evidence Specialist in March 2018. She was quickly promoted to Forensic Analyst in May 2019. She holds certification as a Digital Forensic Certified Practitioner (DFCA) through the national Digital Forensics Certification Board.

Mary joined Vestige in 2018. As a CyberSecurity Analyst she is responsible for conducting proactive CyberSecurity Services. This includes helping contracted organizations with CyberSecurity Readiness, Vulnerability Scanning, External Penetration Testing, Compliance Audits and IT General Control Audits.
She provides expertise in:

• Follows the NIST CyberSecurity Framework to include the functions Identity (ID), Protect (PR) Detect (DE), Respond (RS), and Recover(RC)
• Addresses each function’s control objective, conducts interviews, and documents each appropriate section with audit status and processes to become compliant.
• Reviews security policies, risk assessment policy, data retention and disposal, legal and regulatory requirements regarding cybersecurity.

• Conducts Critical Security Controls Audits, assessing for effective cyber defense criteria. Performs vulnerability scans, examines group policy, firewall monitoring, and password cracking.

Mary is a graduate of Lorain Community College where she earned an Associate Degree in Applied Engineering Technology – Computer & Digital Forensics and Business Forensics Investigations. Jade Brown resides in Beachwood, OH. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Linguistics from Ohio University in Athens, OH. Jade served as an Ambassador for the Taiwan-U.S. Sister Alliance (TUSA) and was a TUSA Scholarship recipient. The pattern-thinking style which served Jade well in subjects such as language acquisition, and political science enabled her to cultivate her interests in technology, cyber forensics, and threat intelligence.
She went on to earn a Graduate Program Certificate in Computer Forensics from Utica College, in Utica, NY. The data is then preserved and/or prepared utilizing forensically-sound procedures for case analysis. Specialists are also responsible for safekeeping, managing and returning physical evidence belonging to clients, opposing side and/or third parties.
Taylor hails from Johnstown, OH. He is a graduate of Gahanna Lincoln High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Digital Forensics from The University of Akron, in Akron, OH. He graduated in May of 2021. While at Akron he took numerous digital forensic courses applicable to his new position including forensics software: Autopsy, Access Data Forensic Tool Kit (FTK) imager applications, Linux, Prodiscover Basic, and Wireshark.
Taylor was a member of the college’s CAST Student Advising Club. He also worked as a Technology Advisor.

Darius is originally from Cincinnati, OH where he attended Walnut Hills High School. He went on to graduate cum laude and was an Honor Scholar from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY. Here he earned a Bachelor of Science in Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity in 2021. Through his studies, he has working knowledge of multiple digital forensic tools used to conduct investigations and analysis of digital media including: FTK, Cellebrite UFED, Magnet Axiom Examiner, and Autopsy Sleuth Kit. Darius was bestowed the College of Science Dean’s Award in Fall 2019 and President’s Award in 2020.
He brings a year of Digital Forensic experience having worked as Digital Forensics Lab Intern for Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch; and as a Cybersecurity Contractor for a Kentucky cyber firm.

Daniel Colwell of Seven Hills, OH joined Vestige Digital Investigations as an Application Developer in 2020.
Dan graduated from the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center in Brecksville, OH where he completed the Computer Science Program. He also attended Cleveland State University for Computer Science.
As an Application Developer at Vestige, Dan will lead the software development efforts including Vestige’s CRM, financial software, evidence tracking system, database work, and other custom programming and analysis projects.
