Ignite: Legal Tech Innovation 2021 Symposia

Currently, there is a bombardment of new technologies emerging in the legal industry.  According to a recent Wolters Kluwer survey, $1 billion in tech investments was spent in 2018. Added to the influx in technology is the recent addition of Comment 8 to Model Rule 1.1, stating that overall competence now encompasses knowledge about “the benefits and risks associated with relevant technology.” How to make the best use of the transformative newer tools such as artificial intelligence and blockchain, in addition to electronic discovery, and keeping all clients’ data secure, is becoming essential. As clients start to embrace these technologies, attorneys have to be aware of them, to have participated in them and  be prepared to deliver services in the new transformational environment.

The Ignite: Legal Tech Innovation 2021 symposia will delve into the emerging issues confronting law facing the adoption of new technologies. Expert panelists and distinguished keynote will cover such issues as the future of artificial intelligence and blockchain technology changing the legal industry. Our guests and presenters from academia and legal practice will review these topics from their knowledge and experience to engage the audience in a much-needed dialogue on the issues.

This event is being co-sponsored by the Judge Ben C. Green Law Library of Case Western Reserve University and the Mid-America Law Library Consortium.
