OUR PANEL PRESENTATION:

Enough with the Rumors around CMMC

THURSDAY, November 2 from 3:30-4:30 pm  | Room  217 D

This panel presentation is designed to dispel the rumors around the DoD’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).  Four key rumors will be addressed around why organizations are waiting, why they don’t think it applies to them, and the real consequences of non-compliance.

This is not an opinion-based presentation, but rather, based on the root sources for CMMC: The Federal Register, the National Archives, the Department of Defense, as well as a member from the CMMC Cyber Accreditation Body (Cyber-AB). Attendees will also learn the current status of CMMC, what’s going to happen next and when.

Learning Objectives:

  • Hear the facts, not the opinions, about CMMC from the CMMC Cyber Accreditation Board Leadership
  • Learn the truth and dispel the leading rumors that surround NIST 800 171/CMMC
  • Learn how fake facts are delaying compliance

Benefits of attending:

  • Hear from the leading experts and resources on CMMC compliance
  • Learn the root sources of the CMMC compliance regime and what those mean for organizations
  • Hear about the manner in which the DOD is enforcing compliance – such as the “…defense contractor agree(ing) to pay $9 million to resolve allegations that it violated the FCA by allegedly misrepresenting its compliance with cybersecurity requirements in certain federal government contracts…”[i]
